Another rare photograph that looks nice enough to share, this is one of five swallowtail caterpillars found on my bronze fennel plant the morning of May 25th, 2021. I just love the butterflies when they emerge, and think the color scheme on the caterpillars is nothing short of artistic in its own right. The brilliant green of the caterpillar's body is wonderfully complemented by the yellow-orange dotted black stripes, and the bronze shoots of new growth and dappled sunlight on our brown house provide the perfect backdrop.
